About Web Development

Web developers are responsible for the websites you see when you scroll. Someone who designs stunning websites for businesses and startups. A full-stack web developer is responsible for both the front-end and back-end components of a website. The front end is responsible for how websites seem to customers, whereas the back end stores and processes all data securely.

Web development is a process that involves the creation of a website. Let\’s look at how a website works and distinguish between front-end and back-end development. The learning of both of these ideas is part of the Web Developer roadmap.

Also, keep in mind that web developers are highly compensated specialists. The majority of Software Developers work as Web Developers. MNCs also employ professionals/freshers with a passion for web development.

Whatever the circumstance, web developers will always be in demand, and it makes no difference whether it\’s WFH (Work From Home) or WFO (Work From Office) (Work From Office). This profession needs attention, patience, and a desire to learn and experiment with technology every day. Everyone, from large corporations to start-ups, requires web developers to see their businesses flourish. Let’s get started!! The following is a step-by-step procedure:

Select a Technology

Front-end, back-end, and database administration are all part of full-stack development. The technology on which you wish to work is determined by persons, needs, and applications. Here are a few technologies that you can work with and are on the rise:

  • MERN – The most recent and popular technology.
    • MongoDB – It is a data-centric NoSQL database.
    • Express – It is a NodeJS framework that supports GET, PUT, POST, and DELETE operations.
    • React – It is a JavaScript library for creating UIs and single-page apps.
    • NodeJS – It is a server environment that is open source.
  • MEAN – MEAN is an end-to-end JavaScript stack largely used for cloud-ready applications.

The primary distinction between Mern and Mean is that MERN (written in JavaScript) works with React, whereas MEAN works with Angular (a framework written in TypeScript).

Front-end Development

Front End is the UI (User Interface), which deals with the general aesthetic of the website, as well as how interactive and dynamic it is. To master it, familiarize yourself with all of the HTML, CSS, and JavaScript parts.

  • HTML (HyperText Markup Language) – Begin learning the fundamentals of HTML by developing a simple website that incorporates all of the parts.

Experiment with tables and forms, and try adding photos and links to the website to make it more appealing, which will make your work more efficient. Click here to learn about HTML conventions and best practices.

  • CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) – If you enjoy being creative, you must learn CSS. It allows you to add colors to your website, offer borders to headers or paragraphs, design the navigation bar, play with icons, fonts, and text, and do a variety of other things.

Make the website responsive, which means it should appear good on multiple screen widths. Bootstrap is the most widely used CSS framework.

  • JavaScript – This is the web programming language. Learn the difference between DOM (Document Object Model) and API (Application Program Interface).
  • Frameworks – A framework is a platform for developing software applications. It consists of programmes, code libraries, and compilers that, when combined, allow the creation of a project or system. These frameworks allow components to be reused. Frameworks include React, Angular, Vue, and more.

Backend Development

The server code includes functionality for sending data from the client and receiving data from the server. It also comprises the database, which keeps all of the application\’s data. It is made up of three components: a server, an application, and a database.

Developers\’ code transports data from the database to the browser in this case. Back-end engineers write code that sends data from the database to the browser.

Back-end developer skills include programming languages, frameworks, databases, servers, and APIs (Application Program Interface).

  • Programming Languages – Back-end developers should be familiar with at least one programming language, such as Java, Python, or JavaScript. JavaScript is the greatest option because it can be used on both the front and back ends.
  • Frameworks – Frameworks are typically components or functionalities that are built to boost development performance. It offers a set of tools and modules used to design a website\’s architecture. Back-end frameworks that are popular include Express, Django, Ruby on Rails, and others.
  • Database – Various DBMS technologies, such as MongoDB, MySQL, Oracle, SQL Server, and others, should be understood. It deals with data storage and management.
  • Clients – A system that provides data, services, or applications across a network is known as a server. They exchange (send and receive) data/information between the client and the server.
  • API (Application Program Interface) – An API is a collection of established rules that allows communication between two apps or acts as an intermediate between them. The answer from the server completes the user\’s request.
  • Client-Server Architecture: This architecture is intended to comprehend the request and the answer. Whenever a client-side request for data is made, the server answers to that request. The image of a database appears, which is detailed in the next step, and saves the information to be retrieved.

Database

The database is a collection of data that allows us to manage data (store and retrieve). Databases are classified into two types: relational (SQL) and non-relational (NoSQL). Some well-known databases are:

  • MySQL – It is a relational database management system (RDBMS) that stores and manages data.
  • MongoDB – It is a NoSQL database that searches for key-value and graph databases.
  • VoltDB – It uses memory to store data and follows a relational structure.

Version Control

When new libraries are added to a program, it is updated over time, resulting in the creation of a new version. If you\’re working on apps, using Git is a must. Git is an open-source platform in which the whole code has existed since its inception. It is safe, versatile, and simple to edit, and it restores the code.

It has repositories where all files, including the codebase, are kept and modifications may be made as needed. Anyone may work together and make modifications as needed.

Version Control Systems include:

  • GitHub
  • GitLab
  • Beanstalk
  • Apache Subversion
  • Mercurial

Version Control Has Many Advantages:

  • It aids in code maintenance.
  • You may use it again and again.
  • The modifications are saved.
  • Provides proof of any modifications done.
  • Improves web development performance.
  • Contribute and collaborate.

Build Projects

When you\’re through with the theory, construct some projects to gain experience with full-stack programming. When you implement all of the front-end and back-end aspects of a project, as well as database management, you will be an expert in web development.

As you construct anything, you become acquainted with technical ideas such as how APIs connect the front end to the back end, how the database handles data, and other stages involved in web development. To become a successful web developer, create the habit of developing projects.

Difference between UI (User Interface) and UX (User’s Experience)

UI (User Interface) UX (User’s Experience)
It is concerned with how people engage with the product/service. The page should reply upon a button click.
User Interface refers to the collection of frames of each element with which a user interacts with a web page. It improves the website\’s overall aesthetic and responsiveness.
As a UI designer, you must have the following skills:
Principles of design style manualsCommunication & teamwork abilities
All of the pieces on a website should be consistent and focused on the visual experience.

A UI designer\’s responsibilities include producing screen visualizations, presenting ideas and design solutions, and keeping documentation of style rules.
It is concerned with the user’s interaction with the product/service.
It works on the website’s friendliness from the beginning to the conclusion. The better the website’s architecture and research, the better the user experience.

As a UX designer, you must have the following skills: Problem solvingCuriosity Recognizing the audience mindset.

It establishes a link between users and the company. UX designers must create a wireframe (the structural level design of a website).
UX designers study, develop, invent, and prototype for a better user experience.

Conclusion

Begin with the theory and work your way to the actual application. Web developers will always be in demand, regardless of where they work. It is and will always be the finest option for advancing one\’s career in technology. Go for it and become an amazing web developer.
